On Tuesday 11th August 2009 we received an email from YouTube saying that our video showing the castration of piglets without anaesthetic had been deactivated because it didn’t comply with the YouTube community guidelines. Jackpot is visibly happy

Interview with PETA about keeping of pigs

In this interview the scientific consultant of  the animal rights  group PETA, Dr. Edmund Haferbeck, informs us about his  concerns of keeping of pigs. We spoke about the keeping of mother animals, about the postnatal clipping and the separation of farrows from their mother.

Due to the requirement of castration in a pet sanctuary (animal shelter), our piglet Jackpot unfortunately can´t stay out of  this surgical procedure.
